Emergency Action Plans

Don’t wait for an accident to happen on the farm to develop a plan. Seconds and minutes can be crucial in decision-making for farm operations. We start small with simple planning and the most likely incidents to ensure the business is covered for employee safety and liability, and then move into the more complicated situations in the event of catastrophic damage, loss, etc. This includes development of farm blueprints, easy to use emergency sheets, and integrated system uploads for better Emergency Response Coordination.

Emergency Response Coordination

Local response units and volunteer departments may have driven past your farm operation hundreds of times, but do they really know what’s going on behind those walls, at that grain setup, or in the cattle yard? We work to host a professional coordinated Emergency Department meeting with your local units to give them an insight into your operation, the ability to train and ask questions, and to better respond in the event of an emergency at your operation. As farming operations grow in size and become more complex, this is crucial.

Safety Meetings

Safety can sometimes leave a bad taste in people’s mouth, especially if members have had bad experiences in the past with silly or ineffective programs. We all know how difficult it can be to instill safety in a team as well, as often times the message coming from a leader in the operation falls on deaf ears. Shay shares practical examples of safety, how to think of safety as a team, and delivers the message for safety measures that can make a difference in the operation. These meetings are great if held as pre-planting or pre-harvest meetings before things get even more hectic, but also as summer or winter meetings developing a plan for the year ahead. Whatever time of year, give us a call with how we can help your team.

Site Walk-throughs

What would someone with unhindered access to your farm operation say about safety measures and safety hazards present on your farm? What would inspectors see if there was an incident and an investigation into the operation? There are things you know need to change, but have not taken the time or resources to. A third-party look at the operation to try to prevent accidents before they happen could make a substantial financial difference, and is also a key piece of communication with insurance providers.
