The Budget Tracking Tool is so important for analyzing your true overhead costs to your operation, and cost of production, that is so often overlooked. Specifically, family living costs, including health care and principal and interest payments on purchased items that the farm is responsible for paying for.

2020 Margin Target Tool AVS TM

The Margin Target Tool is a basic Cost of Production Template to assign costs by line item as you plan for the year ahead. To enhance this tool be sure to look at the Profit Manager tutorial for a more detailed analysis.

2020 Margin Enhancement Tool AVS TM (1)

The Margin Enhancement Tool is a decision aid for specific line item purchasing for example purchasing additional equipment enhancements, crop protection items such as fungicide and insecticide, or additional fertilizer, as well as system or operation upgrades that you think will enhance margin. 2020 Trends Workbook AVS TM

The Trends Workbook is a lot of work, but allows you to go back and evaluate your equity over time to see your position and look at your earned equity over that period of time. Additionally, the chart gives you a visual of the direction your business may be going. Note: Land value should be a constant for the entire period of time as land value appreciation does not represent “earned equity”.

*It is best if these numbers represent a “Market Value” balance sheet as opposed to a “Tax Based” balance sheet.
